Howth Harbour is located in a popular fishing village in North Dublin. There is always free parking.
When you get into the village, drive through to the end of the harbour and park at the furthest pier. There is excellent viewing of the inner and outer harbour as you walk out to the lighthouse at the end of the pier.
Watch out for cormorants, guillemots, razorbills and divers in the inner and outer harbour. At the end of the pier where the lighthouse is, you will often see Dunlin or Purple Sandpipers on the rocks.
Ireland’s Eye, which is the small island just off the coast is home to one of the largest colony of Gannets in the country. Howth has a wide variety of gulls on show all year round.
